The Reishi Mushroom (Ganoderma tsugae) also known as the mushroom of immortality has so many beautiful benefits in addition to its immune strengthening properties.
Reishi is adaptogenic meaning it helps our bodies to adapt better to stress response while also helping to support liver function, lessen fatigue, improve sleep, improve nerve and brain function , fight cancer, and strengthen lung structure and function. Reishi is also known in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a “Shen” tonic (Shen translates to spirit or mind), that works to nourish and calm the heart space and spirit on an energetic level.
Our native Reishi species is known as the Hemlock Reishi and grows on dying/dead Hemlock trees. These Reishi mushrooms were locally sourced, ethically wildcrafted, and processed by me in the Appalachian Mountains of NC. These Reishi have been dried in the sun to increase levels of vitamin D.
Reishi slices are tough, woody and need to be simmered in water for use. Use dried reishi slices to make medicinal tea , broths, soups, and stews or to cook your grains in. You can also use reishi slices to make your own mushroom extractions or powders.

Reishi mushrooms have a bitter/earthy taste. I recommend using 1-3 slices when using for teas or cooking foods.
+ Suggested Use
Use 1-3 dried reishi slices to make medicinal tea add honey or other flavor enhancing herbs to improve taste.
Use 1-2 resihi slices with other medicinal herbs, spices and foods for broths, soups, and stews. Using more than the recommended amount of slices will result in bitter tasting food.
Use Reishi tea or broth to cook your grains instead of plain water.
Use reishi slices to make your own mushroom double extractions or powders.
